ABOUT CANDICE

Candice C. Cusic is the author of Weird Normal, a coming-of-age novel set in Chicago that blends heartbreak, humor, first love, and found family into a story about discovering where you belong. It is the first in a series of interconnected novels set in and around Chicago.

Before writing fiction, Candice spent eleven years as a photojournalist at the Chicago Tribune, where she was part of the newspaper's Pulitzer Prize-winning team. Today she is one of Chicago's award-winning pet & family photographers, known for creating authentic portraits that celebrate the bond between people and the animals they love.

She is also a certified animal communicator and the creator of The See Hear Love Project, which combines animal communication, fine-art photography, and documentary filmmaking to help animals be seen, heard, and remembered.

When she's not writing or behind the camera, Candice is usually searching for Chicago's best vegan food, swimming in Lake Michigan, or trying to resist buying yet another notebook.

She lives in Chicago with her wife and is currently writing the next novel in the series.
